Psychotherapy & Counseling

Approach

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.”

-E.E. Cummings

My holistic therapeutic approach blends traditional psychodynamic work with body-oriented psychotherapy, Buddhist mindfulness practices, and the development of an authentic, safe and supportive therapeutic relationship.  I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and approach this work interactively.  Together we find a direction that will help you achieve your goals.  My approach with you will be based on these goals as well as a deep attunement toward your needs.

My work is guided by certain overarching beliefs:

  • That wellness extends from our inner resiliency and fluidity;
  • That we are deeply influenced by early childhood and our families;
  • That we grow in relationship;
  • That each of us holds the innate power to heal and transform;
  • That as we develop compassion for all our different parts, we become happier and more loving;
  • That there must always be some room for mystery, and a great deal of room for our humanness.
